A wonderful friend of mine, Amy, rescued her dog from Royal Animal Refuge in Tyrone, Georgia. https://www.royalanimalrefuge.org. She sent me a Facebook post about a precious dog named Faith who was suffering from skin problems and who some people would consider ‘ugly’.
Faith inspired me to send a box of Faith, the Ugly Dog books to the organization to sell for profit to go toward Faith’s care. Wouldn’t you know it, Royal Animal Refuge has a story time area where volunteers read books to the dogs. The area is named Nolan’s Nook, honoring an amazing young man that passed unexpectedly.
I’m moved by the kindness of Amy who thought of me when she saw this story. She is an angel on earth whose small gesture of love changed the life of Faith and many others.
Becky at Royal Animal Refuge was kind enough to share photos of a volunteer reading my book, Faith, the Ugly Dog to their sweet girl Faith who, after much love and care from volunteers, now looks beautiful. Enjoy these inspiring photos.
