Kelly Davis Beckley is the author of the children’s book, Faith, the Ugly Dog, and a proud breast cancer survivor. Kelly is married to her best friend, works as a self-employed marketing guru at BDP Design, LLC, and is a mom to two spoiled dogs: Myley, a five-year-old Pocket Beagle, and Butters, a three-year-old Pixie Beagle. She lives in Surprise, Arizona.
Kelly first met Faith at a Humane Society adoption event while working as a doggy daycare specialist at PetSmart in Seattle, Washington. Faith’s time at the shelter was running out when Kelly spotted her and knew she had to adopt her. While Faith may have looked a bit different on the outside, on the inside she was deeply kind, caring, brave, and sweet.
Later, when Kelly went through breast cancer, lost her hair, and gained 32 pounds, Faith became her rock. Sweet Faith constantly reminded Kelly to stay positive, choose joy, and remember that outer appearance does not define worth. Faith’s unconditional love inspired Kelly to write this children’s book. Her goal is to reach children facing cancer, physical differences, or bullying, sharing Faith’s powerful message to help comfort and guide them through life’s difficult journeys.
